The SMHP Archaeological Repository

Protecting and Showcasing the Rich Pre-Contact History of the Secwépemc Nation

The SMHP, in addition to our Collections and Archives, also houses the Archaeological Repository for the Secwépemc Nation. This repository contains belongings unearthed from digs, construction, and forestry studies across the Nation. Many of these digs and studies have provided invaluable knowledge about pre-contact lives of the Secwépemc people. We preserve, protect, and display projectile points, bone carvings, and floral and faunal samples. The repository contains numerous archaeological reports and studies spanning more than sixty years.

Archaeologists, consultants, or companies wishing to submit material to the SMHP Archaeological Repository must read our requirements and guidelines and fill out the PDF form below or email our archivist. Researchers wishing access to the repository must fill out the Chief and Council research form. If you have questions, please contact the museum or our archivist.
