Accessibility Information for Museum Visitors

We have:

  • A ramp leading to the museum’s front entrance
  • Exhibits on a single floor

The Secwépemc Museum and Heritage Park holds accessibility as a core part of our work. Because we seek to honor our Elders and help them share their stories and experiences, and experience the stories of others, we have worked hard to make the museum accessible.

For people who use mobility aids, there is a ramp leading to the museums’ entrance and all our exhibits are on a single floor. We have done what we are able to, so far, with guidelines on museum accessibility from the BC Museums Association, the Canadian Museums Association, and the Smithsonian Guide for Accessible Exhibits. Our exhibits and offerings are a learning opportunity on how we can better serve our community and meet their needs.

Your Feedback Matters

We are always working to add more accessibility options, such as braille or audio tours, and we hope to be able to offer our exhibits in a pamphlet from for other language speakers. We can always improve, and if you have feedback on our accessibility, please let us know.
